COVID-19 Procedures & Policies
Measures we will take to keep our dancers safe, if necessary:
- Limiting the number of dancers per class (based on age)
- Using exterior doors for entrances and exits
- Limiting foot traffic inside the studio lobby
- Potentially shifting the schedule to keep traffic between classes to a minimum and to allow for proper studio sanitizing
- Limiting use of handheld props for preschool classes
- All frequently touched surfaces will be sanitized between each class
- Dance floors will be marked to allow 6 feet of distance between dancers
- All dancers will use hand sanitizer as they enter and exit each class
- Temperatures of staff will be taken upon entrance
- Hands on training will be limited
- Dress codes will be simplified to avoid changing of clothes between classes
- Dancers will be limited to one average size dance bag or backpack and must keep them in the studio in a designated area
- Hospital Grade Air Purification in each of our rooms
Each room has different capacity limitations. Class sizes will be based on the individual studio capacity…
Studio 1 - 12 students total
Studio 2 - 15 students total
Studio 3 - 15 to 20 students depending on age level
All dancers must remain in the designated 6ft by 6ft square at all times during their class. Exceptions to this rule are ONLY allowed for ACROSS THE FLOOR PROGRESSIONS.
BAGS, WATER BOTTLES & PERSONAL ITEMS:
Dancers are allowed to bring 1 dance bag/book bag into the studio. All personal items MUST be kept inside the dancers bag at all times. This includes, clothing, cell phones, watches, etc. Bags will be kept in a designated area in each classroom. Dancers are allowed to bring in personal water bottles as long as they are kept with the dancers personal items.
HOW DANCERS WILL ENTER THE BUILDING AND CLASSROOM:
Students will be asked to remain in their vehicles until the start of their class time or lineup outside on the social distancing decals. Upon entering the building, each dancer will do the following:
Sanitize their hands
Have temperature checked by teacher or by another studio employee
Put bags in the designated “bag area” in the studio
Go straight to their assigned square
Each studio will have a COLOR coordinated sign notating which door they must enter and exit through.
Studio 1 - PINK - will enter through the exit door that leads directly into that studio
Studio 2 - BLUE - will enter through the main lobby entrance
Studio 3 - YELLOW - will enter through the middle lobby entrance
BATHROOM BREAKS DURING CLASSES:
It is important that all dancers use the bathroom before entering the studio. Bathroom emergencies are unavoidable especially with younger dancers so if a student must go to the bathroom during their class time, the following procedures must take place…
Students in studio 3 will use the “purple” bathroom that is easily accessible for that studio. Students in studio 1 will use the “pink” bathroom and students in studio 2 will use the “purple” bathroom that is closes to the student lounge. This will help with cross contamination.
We will remind the student before they exit the room which bathroom they need to proceed to and to wash their hands before they return to the classroom.
Student assistant will assist the dancer in washing their hands if needed and sanitize the bathroom before returning to the classroom
IF A STUDENT HAS A BREAK IN BETWEEN THEIR CLASSES:
If a student has a break that is 15-min or less, they may stay inside the building and wait for their next class. If their break is 16-min or longer, it is encouraged that they leave the building and return to their car until their next class. If they must stay inside the building for an extended period of time, they will need to stay within 6ft of any other person in the building.
HOW DANCERS WILL EXIT THE BUILDING AFTER THEIR LAST CLASS OF THE EVENING:
Once a students last class is over, each student will sanitize their hands and exit through the designated door for their current class room…
Studio 1 - Students will exit through the emergency door that leads directly outside where parents will meet them.
Studio 2 - Students will exit through the main lobby entrance
Studio 3 - Students will exit through the middle lobby entrance
All dancers exiting the building MUST be out of the building before the next group can be allowed to come in. Studio doors will be open for the student by the teacher or student assistant. It is highly recommended that students not touch door knobs while entering or exiting any room in the building.
PARENTS INSIDE THE BUILDING:
Currently parents and non dancers are NOT allowed inside the studio. Parents must wait outside or in the vehicle at all times. Parents wishing to speak with the Office Manager or to make a payment on their account, will only be allowed inside the office waiting room area. This is for the safety of our staff and students. If this policy changes over the course of the season, we will notify parents of said change and an update will be posted here.
Safety procedures and guidelines will be updated regularly as recommendations from the CDC update.
