2020-2021 COVID-19 Studio Guidelines

At Prodigy, we take the health and safety of our dancers and faculty very seriously. We have implemented new policies, procedures and protocols in an effort to keep everyone safe and to keep our studio open for in-person classes!

Thank you in advance for your support and participation in helping us to keep on dancing!

COVID-19 Studio Protocol Flow Chart - Use this flow chart to determine when you should contact us and when you should stay home from dance! This protocol is subject to change if government mandates or CDC recommendations change. We will alert you if we do make changes!

COVID-19 Warning - This warning outlines the exposure risks associated with COVID-19.

Studio Diagram - This diagram indicates the entrance and exit doors for each studio that will be utilized instead of our front lobby entrance/exit.

For the safety of our dancers and staff, we are incorporating extensive new and improved sanitation practices at Prodigy. The following protocol is in addition to our existing standard cleaning procedures. Additionally, signage has been placed throughout the studio to remind everyone of best hygiene practices and social distancing guidelines.

Medify MA-40W V2.0 Medical Grade Filtration H13 True HEPA kits have been installed in all studios. This process removes viruses from the air as it comes through the vents and has a 99% success rate of stopping the spread of pathogens to help reduce subsequent outbreaks.

We have allotted time between many classes to help facilitate cleaning. This thorough cleaning includes but is not limited to all studios, all entrances/doorways, any handheld props, any area touched by dancers, restrooms, and any common areas dancers use. We have trained all employees on the proper protocols for cleaning. Dancers will not be permitted into the rooms until the cleaning is complete. At the end of each day, all floors and restrooms will be thoroughly sanitized in addition to daily sanitizing standards.

Staff members have access to cleaning supplies, disinfectant and hand sanitizer and have been instructed to clean any areas needed during class, should it be necessary.

The use of handheld props will be limited, however should we choose to use them they will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each use.

Anyone who uses the restroom facility will be required to thoroughly wash hands with soap upon exiting the restroom.
All staff members have been trained on proper hand hygiene and will be required to use hand sanitizer or wash hands with soap after each group leaves the area where they are stationed.

Upon entry to each designated area within Prodigy, we will take the dancer’s temperature and will provide and require hand sanitizer on each dancer’s hands. You are welcome to use your own hand sanitizer if you prefer.

Dancers age 11+ are required to wear a mask at all times while inside the studio and during class. Students age 10 and younger are not required to wear a mask while in the studio, but we do strongly encourage they wear them if able. As things continue to change, this could change. Dancers wearing masks will be permitted to step away and remove their masks for fresh air.

If your dancer needs water during class time, we recommend bringing your own water bottle. Our water fountain will not be accessible or available for use.

Dancers will be limited to one average sized dance bag or backpack and must keep them in the studio in a designated area. Dress Codes have been simplified to avoid changing of clothes between classes.

  • While waiting to enter the studio, please be respectful of others space and keep 6 feet apart.

  • Dance floors will be marked to allow six feet of space between dancers. We have limited class sizes to ensure that every dancer will have appropriate space.

  • All common areas, except restrooms, are closed to non dancers.

We ask that you share the responsibility of communicating and enforcing appropriate boundaries with your dancer. We know this is a challenge, but it is so important for the safety of everyone! Currently parents and non dancers are NOT allowed inside the studio. Parents must wait outside or in the vehicle at all times. Parents wishing to speak with the Office Manager or to make a payment on their account, will only be allowed inside the office waiting room area. This is for the safety of our staff and students. If this policy changes over the course of the season, we will notify parents of said change and an update will be posted here.
